Mother - A Person whom we cant live without...

Although a toddler she took care of her siblings

Skipped school too to meet family's rued ailings

When she excelled in class she hurt boys feelings
In adolescence guys jabbed her heart as their flings

Going to work & growing there was her herculean task

At home too some cultures hid her under a mask

Never was she free to enjoy the worldly sun & in it bask
Nor was she served with things that she did rarely ask

Despite the hardships she scathed through in style

Step by step she progressed with her husband in a file
Held her kids hands till they crossed the educational mile
Supported all at home clearing their problems pile

Those money's she gave when our father did spurn

Cared for our life when frustrated we experienced heartburn

She became our friend our sister & with her it was always fun

When we felt lonely, it was only her we found when behind we turn

She was our Saraswati, Lakshmi & Kali in our life's school

Annapurna was she on whose food for health we'd all drool
As Sarvamangala our apirations she fulfilled unperturbed & cool
A living goddess is she who ensured we don't end up a fool

Very late do we realise there's none in comparison to her

Unique is she in every way who made our lives worthier
She's given her time & poured her life into us & none other
Lets surprise her today, & celebrate to say "You're the greatest mother"
